She used the drive to copy CD DVD without any problem and so far it only required 1 USB plug (cable come with dual head USB plug in case 1 port cannot provide enough power)
-
With some laptops this device may require the use of 2 USB ports to get sufficient power.
-
Also, it takes up two USB ports to give it enough power to operate properly and to not cause hang up problems
-
Worked fine with just one of the USBs plugged in (it comes with a cord that has two USB connectors on it in case your machine doesn't produce enough power to run the drive on just one USB connection.)Very lightweight
-
provide adequate power to the drive
-
My only complaint is that the USB cable is a "Y-cable" that states it should hook up to 2 USB ports for adequate power supply.
-
Their installation guide says there may be enough power to use one USB but the length of the cord is not long enough that I can place the drive on a table while using the laptop in my lap
-
i didn't think it would work -- not enough power, but i was wrong..
-
My computer doesn't have 2 usb ports next to each other, so for the one that can't be plugged into the computer I use my portable power bank (usually I use it for charging my iPhone on the go) and it's worked out just fine for me
-
My laptop does not supply enough power to run this drive well
-
but I hate that it needs to be plugged into two USB ports to get enough power.
-
I believe the drive cannot draw enough power from the one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0
-
The directions say "For some computers that cannot provide sufficient power, you may need an extension cable" (which is sold separately)
-
again, i didn't think it would work -- not enough power, but i was wrong
-
The brief instructions suggest that you connect the two USB’s together to two available ports in the computer because only one plug might not provide enough power
-
The one thing that is extremely important to note is that to get adequate power, the thing may need to be hooked up with two USB ports
-
While it's not as fast as an externally powered CD burner, it's acceptable and quality is flawless.
-
Well, the power came on and then it went off
-
But how do I know if my computer isn't providing sufficient power
-
My only complaint is that it requires 2 USB ports to supply enough power to run, which is a bit difficult because they are on opposite sides of my laptop.
-
It comes with a cord that plugs into two USB ports to provide enough power but it works with just one in my machine
