The quality of this product is terrible because the DVD-RW didn't work at all (i.e. right out of the box).

I expected better quality from a brand like ASUS - this is flimsy and without enough support when the drive is open to insert the CD, it's very difficult to get the CD to snap onto the spindle

Generally speaking it's a good optical drive, and I always trust the quality of ASUS products

While it's not as fast as an externally powered CD burner, it's acceptable and quality is flawless.
