Maybe I've just been lucky, but this has worked well with only one USB connector plugged in - an issue because of the many other peripherals using up ports

I did a lot of research to find a portable DVD drive that would work with Windows 8 - the ASUS External Slim Optical Drive works great with Windows 8.I was able to easily plug in the two USB connections (one for data, and one for power) from the DVD drive and insert the disc to load it onto my computer, but once I loaded a DVD movie into the drive nothing would happen

I have quite a few Asus laptops, all have proven to be reliable work horses, this product looks like it shoild hold up well.
