Haven't tested what the battery drain on my Lenovo is, I've always had it plugged in when in use.

DisplayLink manages it just fine, battery drain while using monitor is not horrible, certainly no worse than expected

If using a laptop the battery drain is noticeably increased if you aren't plugged into a power source, but with my Macbook Air I would say that you would still get a few hours of good use without any external power source

Make sure its the B+ version which supports USB3.0
