For a while this product worked fine, but then the monitor mysteriously stopped working.

Not only are the products a complete waste of money, but the hassle of dealing with the customer service was the most unpleasant and time wasting experience I have ever had.

If you have any of those two operating systems, than this device is for you and it is a very solid product when it comes to Hardware

only compatible with newer computers with built in USB-C

The C+ is brighter and more responsive than the B+ as it uses the displayport, standard over USB 3.1 Type C meaning that it counts towards the maximum number of monitors your graphics card supports

before you buy, do yourself a favor and research it a bit as far as compatibility goes.compared to 169c+...in my experience, the c+ will only work if your mobo setup has a 3.1 usb c slot that's dp alt mode compatible.

However, most laptops don't support USB C yet.

Unfortunately, the USB-A to Proprietary connector does not work with the Apple USB-C to USB-A adapter and my MacBook pro no longer recognizes it

The response time for DisplayPort over USB C is much better than MB169B+ which is USB 3.0 with drivers.
