• Reviews around screen (3.51 of 5)

ASUS MB168B 15.6" WXGA 1366x768 USB Portable Monitor

    • The work I do most times requires 2 screens
    • That issue aside, the screen is very dim and not the clearest image.
    • (Note: I wasn't using it in rugged situations, just as a convenient second screen in and out of coffee shops/hotels)
    • I'm glad Asus can make a good screen.
    • But, running off the USB I found the screen to be too dim.
    • Screen quality - No complaints.
    • The screen is not super sharp, but I did not expect that for this price.
    • Decent viewing angles, and the screen is a rather nice matte
    • Like the screen but the USB always falls out of the side not stable enough
    • Great screen but cover does not work well as a stand
    • However, on the first trip the screen cracked even though it was in the sleeve it comes with in a carry-on bag
    • The screen is great, however the folder that it should be packed in is too small for the screen meaning you have to buy or use something else
    • I have no idea why they went with a portable screen design far more vulnerable than a laptop.
    • Good screen- well-made caseBut,,Texts in the screen is not good to read many texts because it's little blurry
    • A portable 2nd screen to go along with your notebook
    • One, I hate glossy screens since the reflections are a show stopper for me in anything but a dark room
    • Works for a few minutes then the screen freezes.
    • This portable monitor was to replace my second AOC that was only a year old, however the screen wasn't very protected even using their soft sided baggy they send you - so my screen got cracked
    • Screen LED-Lit Monitor for 16 months and used it nearly full time while I hauled it around the world (literally).
    • What a disaster this screen has been
    • I would have given it a 5, with a few minor (and I mean minor) exceptions -- the cord does pull out easily from the monitor (but not a problem), the screen could be just a little bit brighter (but that is the result of the model I purchased; for 2x the cost, I could have had the higher density and brightness that results), and the case angle works "most" of the time -- if I"m sitting on a higher chair, like normal desktop, I instead use my tablet stand for the steeper angle).
    • This screen is perfect for travelers who enjoy dual screen
    • The case needs to be made to protect the screen being that the screen is so thin
    • Screen broke within 3 months...very fragile product.
    • Works well as a secondary screen.
    • These screen are great for expanding productivity
    • Great screen, however the stand that comes with it is a big pile of trash.
    • Great second screen - very portable (fits in my daypack along with the laptop).Downside is that It does seem to slow things down a little, and its not very bright.
    • Love having a second screen
    • For the average school work/job, surfing or gaming this screen will be great
    • Screen is not sturdy nor attached to the base
    • I had the screen in its proper case, in my sturdy bookbag, but the screen cracked in multiple places.
    • Not the greatest resolution but overall nice for a portable screen.
    • I find working on a single screen laptop nearly impossible while travelling,
    • I have to say the picture is not as good as my other "second" screen, but this one is so much thinner, and for travel that is what I wanted
    • love it, very light and great screen resolution, case is awsome
    • This screen is da bomb!!!
    • I like the screen and using it on my latest travels transformed my productivity.
    • Amazing portable screen, easy to use .loving everything about it..
    • I like that the screen is non-reflective (i.e. matte, not glossy, as a few other reviews wrongly stated) and flicker-free (which you can easily test yourself by looking at it through a cell phone camera)
    • And like I said, I've had my initial screen well over 12 months, and am a heavy user of these screens too
    • This built in stand/cover requires a LOT of room which is counter to needing a slim portable screen
    • On the plus side, the screen works as advertised after the drivers are installed
    • This is mostly fine, however I have found that while the screen is in the portrait position, the cable becomes taut, and have had more than one incident where I nearly knocked the screen over while adjusting my work space.
    • Only way this would get 5 stars is to include a case that would help protect the screen better and make the stand better with a complete redesign.
    • Super light weight and crisp screen.
    • I really like the screen
    • This is a very useful second screen especially when traveling alot.
    • It was a nice looking screen but didn't read the description clearly and was surprised when I noticed it didn't have an HDMI port
    • Best mobile screen i've used, works without issue on new macbook pro (2016)
    • the outer plastic area makes a great buffer zone to protect the screen and it is so light there is not much of an impact when it does hit the ground
    • Works with my Laptop Windows 10 laptop, the screen is not really bright but helps me when I've to travel to have an extra screen
    • The only downsides that I could find with the ZenScreen are that the screen doesn't get as bright as the screen on my MacBook Pro and the glossy finish on the screen actually reflects more than the screen on the MacBook
    • Per my subject, this is an extremely flawed Amazon product listing that should really be, at minimum, 2-3 separate product pages as the different flavors of Asus portable USB screens are very different from each other
    • The screen is awesome
    • The screen is great as a second monitor when I travel
    • This means you cannot use the monitor without the Surface charger, which severely limits its usefulness as a portable screen.
    • Great screen and it supports Mac!!!
    • the screen just simply doesn't work properly
    • Screen was too dim, had a hardware problem where the USB did not charge the monitor when plugged in
    • The screen is sharp
    • However, the screen is far too fragile.
    • It has gotten to the point where I would rather drag the screen back to my laptop to do anything.
    • Just what I needed a portable second screen.
    • This is a great screen to use when you need to travel and need an additional screen to your laptop
    • Great screen
    • Can't recommend this screen enough
    • The screen is great, it works without any major setup.
    • This is a great little screen
    • Lenovo screen has crisp texts (1920*1080)
    • The screen is plenty bright for indoor use but has a glossy screen so it may not work well outdoors in full sunlight.
    • MountEra also mounts the monitor at a slight angle which I prefer but a con is that it blocks part of the portable monitor screen
    • After a week of using this item I realized it doesn't have speakers and the folding stand doesn't securely hold your screen if the table or desk gets bumped it will fall
    • I thought maybe the screen was scratched during shipping as it didn't have scratches when I sent it.
    • But naturally, the screen is limited by the amount of power and display bandwidth that's possible through a USB 3.0 cable
    • They indicated the screen had scratches and sent a few photos which didn't really show much in the way of scratches to me.
    • Screen broke first time
    • Important to note, the 15.6” displays do fit in the rubberized grips of their expandable calipers, but it’s too tight to the point I feared the screens would be damaged by the squeezing pressure.
    • The screen always worked.
    • The driver installed without requiring an administrative approval, which is huge since my laptop is locked down, and it is a bit of a process to get drivers installed by IT.The screen is responsive - as quick as any other screen I've worked with - and the resolution is crisp and clean
    • The screen is bright and easy to see from multiple angles.
    • Screen is usable for work.
    • Works great and really nice to have another screen when working on the laptop!
    • The USB 3.0 Ports are located on the left-hand side of my laptop, while I like the screen to sit to the right of it.
    • My default browser is Chrome and when I use it on ASUS MB 168B, it breaks the screen as shown in the picture
    • Nice big screen
    • The screen is superb
    • Aside from the absolutely simple plug-it-in-and-it-works simplicity, it's a brilliantly bright, clear, crisp and super portable screen.
    • The screen brightness and color does not change with f.lux.The case/stand doesn't feel intuitive to use at first as it doesn't feel like it would support the screen very well, but your first instinct is probably correct and it does support the screen well
    • Great screen, well worth it.
    • Works great as a 2nd screen on the go.
    • While the screen is nice, portable and thin
    • I'd give it 5 stars, because the screen is super nice and clear and it works really well.
    • I'd give it 5 stars, because the screen is super nice and clear and it works really well.
    • Screen broke down after 2 months - the get
    • I really enjoy the dual screen on the go!
    • I like this product, but the screen seems pretty dark and the brightness adjustment on the side doesn't seem to do anything
    • The screen is gorgeous and the resolution is great
    • The screen is clear and crisp
    • Great screen but cover does not work well as a stand
    • Bad for Gaming - Display Link disables full screen gaming (Google search for more info :"display link full screen games")Workaround involves disabling the monitor from working , and restarting the computer each time for enabling or disabling.5) Not a Road WarriorDevice screen cracked in less then a month from purchase , inside provided protective cover and in a padded bag , left untouched on a table
    • The screen dims a bit when you plug it into the computer, and you can control the brightness on a Mac
    • so 169b+ does offer drivered usb A mode...the differences here, the zenscreen is a prettier, glossy screen whereas the 169b+ was a dull, matte image.
    • I am very careful and I put this in a pelican case with my laptop and still managed to crack the screen, somehow.
    • Works wonderfully as a second screen to my laptop (macbook pro) and my other windows laptop as well
    • The cover is good to keep the screen in a backpack but not good to use it as a stand.
    • The screen is very dim.
    • It is a great screen, super light
    • The stand is very flimsy and the screen is extremely fragile
    • The part that's supposed to keep the screen from slipping onto the table / ground is too small and your screen could break / crack if it slips off and falls.
    • I would say it's about as strong to my iPad cases and have a firm edging on both sides so the chances of something cause the case to buckle and break the screen seems much less likely
    • Love the second screen
    • Great quality, excellent screen resolution, effortless installation.
    • I recommend this screen for users who need a portable screen for meetings.
    • Very good resolution screen.
    • no water damage or aggressive handling...the screen has just decided to stop working
    • It gets very nearly as bright as my laptop screen at full brightness
    • If you travel a lot or live out of your backpack, this is a great screen
    • I love bright screens and this is significantly less bright than my Macbook Air
    • Not the greatest resolution, but good price for a solid screen.
    • I have only had the screen for a few months, but long enough to be out of the return period for Amazon.
    • I got this monitor because when using my MacBook Pro, having a second screen is definitely worth it, especially when video editing
    • It's lighter than I expected, very attractive and perfect as an additional screen.
    • Amazing screen, many say it’s not bright enough but instead of using a pre programed profile, just adjust the brightness to 100%
    • but I think it will protect the screen adequately when travelling
    • The screen works great on my Lenovo laptop - very sharp graphics.
    • Crisp screen clarity (1080p)
    • It must have gotten hit in my laptop bag and the screen was permanently damaged.
    • Crisp screen clarity (1080p)
    • Clear portable screen
    • It's a little glossy and attracts fingerprints like an iPhone given to a kid, but the screen is sharp and clear.
    • The screen has not been damaged as it is kept on my work desktop when at home or otherwise is safely stored in its travel case provided
    • Great looking screen
    • I've always kept it in its case, in the same protected pocket as my laptop, but somehow the screen developed a scratch and the picture is now ruined all around the scratch
    • The screen is plenty bright for indoor use but has a glossy screen so it may not work well outdoors in full sunlight.
    • While I did manage to get it to work on that computer, the screen would flicker every ten or so seconds while playing full screen video, making it largely useless in that role as well
    • The screen has been working great, I have been able to set up three screens at once with it
    • It is very sturdy, protects the screen well, and gives you a total of 4 set up options (vertical straight up and down, vertical tiled, and horizontal straight up and down, horizontal tilted)I will say that the USB cable is somewhat short, but I can understand why they did not Include a longer one
    • Given that this is what this product is designed for (portable use), it's disappointing that it doesn't come with a case better suited to protecting the screen
    • Crystal Clear screen
    • The case is flimsy and does not protect the screen
    • However, the screen was extremely laggy
    • This has been a really great screen, with a few caveats
    • This screen is clean, clear, and crisp.
    • This is an awesome Screen!
    • Excellent resolution, since the power runs on USB 3.0 dont except a super bright screen.
    • The quality is superb, very light and very nice FHD screen
    • I'm even considering getting a second for a portable triple-screen set up!I give this item 4 stars out of 5 because the "monitor" has to be propped up against the case, which gives it a VERY large footprint for such a thin screen
    • The screen was easy to use and setup.
    • ASUS-MB169B-Screen-LED
    • The only time I find myself using it are in desperate situations where I simply need to reference a still second screen, rather than actually work on it.
    • The picture is great, this screen looks very good, I had no trouble with frame rate on videos
    • Once working the resolution is good, the screen is clear and its an excellent monitor for office work on the road
    • I'm a freelance website designer and online marketing consultant and spend a LOT of time in clients offices and coffee shops working and this screen is really easy to set up and plug one cord in and the HD resolution matches up with my laptop resolution perfectly so when I move windows back and forth between the screens there is no contrast in the size of things.
    • the screen has three hard buttons to control the ui thus furthering its appeal as a legit monitor replacement.
    • Stylish, lightweight, very clear picture, arrived in Thailand from the US in three days, well packaged and easy to set up, recommended as a second screen whilst travelling, only just fits in my rucksack so check the dimensions carefully.
    • Overall the screen feels like a cheap piece of plastic.
    • Everything worked very well and screen is incredibly handy.
    • The screen is bright enough to work with, has a better resolution than my work computer, is highly portable, and doesn't require a power supply.
    • The screen works great
    • This review is for the Asus (720p) portable screen
    • But just from transportation in the case in my laptop case, the screen looked like it cracked
    • It is a fragile screen but also used for mobility ~ cracked after a few months of backpack use.
    • This compact design screen is the best on the market
    • The screen is fairly bright on the default mode, but on a sunny day I think I will wish I could adjust it
    • Excellent screen.
    • I'm leaving the one having lesser resolution at work for when I go to a conference room for setup and want 2 monitors, and the better resolution screen stays at home because when not in a conf
    • This means you cannot use the monitor without the Surface charger, which severely limits its usefulness as a portable screen.
    • I absolutely LOVE this USB-powered screen.
    • Great screen, very good quality, does everything I need.
    • Fragile : the screen cracked under very little pressure when I accidentally placed my bag down on the monitor (when is was in the case facing
    • This is a beautiful screen, LOVE it for the office as an additional screen for clients to see their information while I still have my computer view
    • This screen works great and really improves your productivity when on the road.
    • This screen works great and really improves your productivity when on the road.
    • Writing papers, doing research and able to have both screens is amazing
    • This screen works great as a secondary screen to my lenovo thinkpad
    • bright, high resolution screen
    • love it, i use it as my second screen on my macbook with a viozon ipad stand
    • The brightness is ok - not great, and the screen is clear but the refresh is slower than a regular monitor due to the limited bandwidth of USB (even though my MacBook Air has USB
    • Can't recommend this screen enough
    • Not a big deal, but when the screen isn't that bright to begin with then
    • Love having the extra screen while traveling
    • but then the screen cracked
    • Not good screen quality.
    • This portable screen has exceeded my expectations it is thin and the resolution is great
    • This screen is amazing for the price
    • works great, it's not as good as my main screen
    • works great, it's not as good as my main screen
    • it neither brightens nor darkens the screen
    • screen was nice but the connector was trash.. broke 3 day after using it
    • it's small, inexpensive, has good weight, and works very well with this monitor, (particular when it's used horizontally), and i can use it with my large-screen smartphone as well.
    • Overall a very good screen for the money, but it is extremely fragile.
    • This screen continues to work flawlessly.
    • great screen , works well , nice cover
    • All that being said, after jumping through a few annoying hoops, the screen is great!
    • On the whole, I love this screen
    • /break screenThe greatest thing is that you get really good portable FHD IPS screen and it makes a lot of difference when you need to move around with a laptop
    • Good quality screen with decent brightness for having no dedicated power bar
    • This portable monitor was to replace my second AOC that was only a year old, however the screen wasn't very protected even using their soft sided baggy they send you - so my screen got cracked
    • and now the screen doesnt work at all
    • this screen is not entirely mac friendly, however it serves my purpose.
    • I am very careful not to overload the laptop bag or place items in it that may damage the screen if the bag gets pressed or set down weird.
    • ASUS should just make the same screen, but have a rigid screen protector that folds into a stand instead of the flimsy case
    • I have no idea why they went with a portable screen design far more vulnerable than a laptop.
    • Great picture, works well with my laptop as extra screen.
    • Would also make a great 2nd screen with a laptop since they do not have large displays anyhow.
    • Great portable screen.
    • But the case will protect the screen from scratches
    • Works for a few minutes then the screen freezes.
    • The screen is bright and crisp, setup is quick and easy, and it's light enough that you won't hesitate to take it with you
    • Since I use dark color schemes (black background, white text) on everything, this screen won't work super well as a primary monitor.
    • The screen is crisp and sharp.
    • The thing that I find irritating is that Apple and other tablet style computer manufactures can build much more complicated devices, in thinner form factors, that have really good bright screens
    • Although this screen is supposed to work better with Windows PCs, the video drives for my mac on my Windows 7 partition (using bootcamp) are not compatible
    • Still great as a portable screen, but a little dark for everyday use.
    • Using this with an Asus that is a few years old that is running windows 8 and only has USB 2.0.Having a light and portable external screen has been extremely helpful
    • Single USB cable, no extra power supply, nice clear screen
    • So good screen supported by shoddy and cheap ASUS Smart Case that you cant use
    • So good screen supported by shoddy and cheap ASUS Smart Case that you cant use
    • My one complaint about the ASUS is that the screen isn't particularly bright.
    • Not a very good screen stand method
    • Screen is way too dark
    • As a stand it works OK indoors but a stiff breeze would blow the screen over outdoors
    • In fact it is almost as bright as my laptop screen and that is on USB 3.0 and not USB-C.
    • Excellent monitor and edition as second screen
    • Screen is brighter than most reviews had led me to believe
    • I have a newer 16 inch HP laptop so the screens are virtually identical in size and while the WXGA monitor is not quite as sharp as the laptop screen, it is still very easy on the eyes when on the web, in a document or some other program
    • The resolution of screen is great and colors are great too, but if you have the latest MacBook Pro, the screen will not be exactly as bright as the MacBook Pro, but still pretty good.
    • Excellent portable screen that just fits in my laptop backpack.
    • I'm a programmer who uses this as a second or fourth screen (depends on if I am away from my desktop where it is a fourth monitor or on a laptop where it is a second screen) and I love it
    • I wish the screen could be a bit brighter but for the price and a single USB connection I will overlook this
    • Another great feature of the ASUS MB169B+ is that it has adjustable screen brightness (another feature that the AOC e1659Fwux doesn't have.
    • easy to install and comes with a case , the screen is pretty decent , I am comparing it to a MacBook pro
    • It was either spend nearly three hundred dollars on this plus an extended warranty or go with another product that reviewers say is prone to screen breakage, compatibility issues, connection issues, is low quality, etc
    • The screen is bright when you turn it up all the way
    • Like others, I wish the screen was brighter and the image more vibrant, but for what I spend 90% of my time doing (Word/Excel/Outlook/Blackboard), the monitor works just fine
    • My best white screen is pretty heavily blue hued-this would be bad for serious graphics/art work.
    • It's a beautiful screen and exactly what I needed
    • I ignored the comments saying the screen was fragile an ordered one, but the LCD was shattered right out of the box.
    • The displays on both versions of the monitor are really quite good - probably better than most cheaper laptop screens, but not nearly as good as the best laptop screens.
    • In any case if the screen were brighter it would be 5 starsUPDATE
    • Before this the screen worked as intended except for having a loose cable port on the monitor itself
    • On my first time bringing the screen with me the screen cracked
    • The Asus support section has acknowledged the issue since October 2016, but does not provide any date for a fix (and neither does the live support).Otherwise works great in landscape mode as a second screen as advertised; relatively light to use when traveling.
    • The Asus support section has acknowledged the issue since October 2016, but does not provide any date for a fix (and neither does the live support).Otherwise works great in landscape mode as a second screen as advertised; relatively light to use when traveling.
    • While the driver allows the screen to be viewable, it appears nothing else was considered for the Mac.
    • The screen is too dark
    • For the price, and because of the niche it fills, I would recommend this display, unless perhaps you have eyesight issues that require a brighter screen with better contrast.
    • The screen worked great
    • Not good for layout or design work due to weak contrast, but it frees up my main screen for that while holding everything text related
    • I wish the edges were rubbery or grippy, so I can at least lean the screen up against things since I really didn't want to use the case as a stand.
    • I would not recommend this to a friendAlso note the monitors stand/case is not very sturdy, and after finding out how fragile the screen is I would be very cautious.
    • 1080P resolution with a 15" screen result gives enough real estate to give you split screen on it, effectively giving you three monitors
    • I bought two screens and for neither of them, the connector worked from day one.
    • The screen looks visibly pleasing and works pretty well with low latency if you're using a good USB port
    • The only two things I don't like about the monitor is that the stand only has two angles that it can support the screen and that the cable that connects it to the computer is not that long
    • The screen is not as bright as I would like it to be but it makes working in coffee shops absolutely amazing
    • The screen is great
    • (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014GCTGFM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00).Pros:--The screen is GREAT.
    • The screen lags and it's not useable
    • But as a secondary screen for reference or lookup data or as a presentation screen, it works well.
    • Now, I could buy a stand, but then you block the screen and you risk scratching the USB
    • Certainly not a good as the 4 screen workstation at home but can't get much better than this while on the road.
    • However, the screen broke pretty easily.
    • It's surprising how good the screen looks
    • It compliments a standard laptop screen nicely
    • Screen was frazzled - multi-color instead of true color.
    • But I really like having the extra screen to work with.
    • This screen was great for about 2 weeks before breaking
    • The brightness setting works as designed, and the screen is plenty bright.
    • I have a relatively VGU intensive screen saver that sometimes hangs the monitor
    • Really great portable screen
    • I work as a web developer and screen real estate is a staple of efficiency in my line of work
    • I think the picture quality would be better if I had USB 3.0 instead of 2.0, but this second screen is still perfect for my purposes.
    • The screen looks pretty good and has good build quality.
    • the screen is kind of fuzzy for being high definition in the scale doesn't fit quite right if I could do it all over again I wouldn't buy it
    • I had a single time where I woke my computer up from sleep and the screen was distorted and yellow
    • It is the best screen
    • Love this additional screen
    • The displays on both versions of the monitor are really quite good - probably better than most cheaper laptop screens, but not nearly as good as the best laptop screens.
    • I recommend this to anyone moving a lot and in need for a second monitor; the screen is clear and sharp and the 1920x1080 resolution is perfect for my need
    • Nice looking screen.
    • The only down side is that, since it is a USB monitor that does not use USB-C connectivity, its power supply is relatively low, so the screen is less bright than my laptop and other monitors
    • But the screen is really clear - better than my native laptop screen, and it is big enough to make a meaningful difference in portrait mode as a second monitor.
    • Perfect portable screen, but the carrying case that is also the stand is not very good
    • The screen itself is very easy to use and travel with; the case/stand combo is very helpful and the screen is light
    • The case it comes in is great for protection in a brief case but I am now ordering the stand that was recommended with it on here because the front flap keeps the screen a bit further back when working
    • Yes, nonetheless, I love it not only cause it is lightweight, sleek, thin, has a cover but more so as it gives me freedom to work more productively and efficiently, by having a second external portable screen that I can also bring along with me, when ever I am globe trotting
    • Unfortunately that's what's in the laptop I primarily purchased the screen to compliment
    • - The screen has been blurry/very unclear since day 1 but I figured it was a settings issue
    • When I tried using my USB C cable that goes with the charger from Apple, the screen did not work
    • Fantastic full HD screen that shows crispy clear images
    • I wish the screen could be a bit brighter but for the price and a single USB connection I will overlook this
    • Bright large screen, lightweight - perfect for travel
    • The Zenscreen has a bit of a glare, but I'll take that any day over the dull screen of the MB169 b+.
    • The screen is sharp and bright enough to use with Autocad
    • The one minor flaw is that the part that's supposed to prop the screen up (the reconfigured cover, doesn't do as good a job as a portable metal or plastic screen holder.
    • The cable also doesn't really have a home in the case, but the case does protect the screen well
    • As a stand it works OK indoors but a stiff breeze would blow the screen over outdoors
    • I would have preferred a smaller (14") screen, which would have been more portable and easier to fit on small hotel desks; and I also should have gone up to full HD
    • I am very impressed with how good this screen looks as a portable add-on
    • I then ordered this ASUS and the monitor was recognized by windows 7 and the driver installed on its own and the screen has worked every time!!
    • Still great as a portable screen, but a little dark for everyday use.
    • However, if you're looking for portable second screen to increase productivity, this is as good as it
    • If it is for the purposes of having a second portable lightweight screen to work off, on-the-go - absolutely
    • Having two screens while on the road greatly improves my productivity
    • I am a digital nomad and I work as s
    • Don't make the same mistake!S
