As others have mentioned, 4K gaming is pretty much non-existent (lack of UI scaling is normally the problem) so that part was not a high priority
-
Probably a nice screen but backlight problems on the right side killed it for me.
-
Seriously, for a $600 monitor the above problems are unacceptable
-
The infamous backlight-bleed problem is real but it is not a deal breaker while gaming
-
I'm amazed at how poor Asus's QC has been with the MG279Q monitor: Many other people have gotten monitors with similar problems (bad pixels, partially occluded pixels (AKA "dust" in between panel layers), and bad back-light bleed) leading one to believe that the chances of getting a good MG279Q monitor are slim to none
-
This corner went away at first after doing a reboot of the monitor, so I was hopeful that it would be a manageable problem
-
and they all had problems (dead pixels, scrambled video, losing signal).
-
And this could be a critical problem depending on your intended use
-
I have not had a problem with black light bleed but have received 5 monitors in total, all with dead pixels
-
monitor work great, had one pixel that was out other wise no problem
-
These issues might not be a problem for gamers who place their monitor on a granite table.

I can't get over how great 4k is and the size is awesome, the response time is great, and the options for picture customization is also great, I have had no dead pixels or any problems with this
