Great record player

I forgot how much fun listening to records is, plus the sound quality is so much better.

Was looking for a decent record player stumbled on this one..works great very pleased.

When evaluating sound quality, you must keep in mind that any crackling that may take place is because your record is scratched or the needle has dust on it

A bit of digging online found forums of people discussing my exact issue, and the verdict seemed the same- be it moments, hours, days, months, or even years, the dang thing will eventually either play your records off-speed, or the lack of an anti-skate mechanism will damage your records or both

I definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for an affordable record player without sacrificing quality.

If you have any popping or skipping, make sure to clean the record properly( You could buy a fancy record cleaning kit or if cost conscious, use a few drops of Original Blue Dawn mixed in with warm distilled water) before playing

On my Ion turntable one can raise the arm that plays on the record from the back of the arm with a little lever to keep it off the record if the record is scratched and is stuck in one place.

I mean, it is an inexpensive record player (not direct drive, the needle cartridge isn't the best ever), but overall it is a great way to get started and even has a built-in pre-amp in case you don't have a receiver with phono inputs

I got this as a gift for my boyfriend because I know how much he loves vinyl records, so he needed a way to play them

I put my records on and it worked just as I hoped it would

I've been an avid record collector for three years and have used plenty of turntables of better and worse quality

The only complaint is i wish it had a lever to lift the arm up instead of lifting it manually near the head and needle while hoping the needle doesn't drag and scratch the record

Worse, many records that are pressed just fine will skip on this player because there's no weight/counterbalance

Basically, listening to anything became unbearable and certainly not worth recording, which is the whole point of this turntable's existence.

Only complaint is that the felt platter cover was bent on the very edge from the cardboard so the records are uneven.

It works admirably, and the records - even some that I thought would really show marked signs of age - sound great.

More expensive record players have a dial that lets you adjust the speed, this one does not, but usually that is OK for most records.
