AUKEY Car Phone Mount Air Vent Magnetic Cell Phone Holder Compatible with iPhone X/8/8 Plus/7/7 Plus/6s Plus, Samsung Galaxy, LG, Nexus and More

    • I used the larger metal receiver piece and placed it inside the protective case on my S6.
    • Worst case is you can bring it along with you when you travel to use in a rental car.
    • Recently tried it with a hard plastic case and it seems to be working as well.
    • The hold is strong with a Samsung Note II using a hard plastic case.
    • I am thankful I had a protective case on my phone and a Zagg screen protector
    • I have a Droid Maxx with hard plastic case and used the metal insert
    • I did stick the circular piece directly to the back of the soft rubber case, and it sticks like a champ!
    • The down side is my phone has a slick metal disk about 1/8th of an inch thick that completely negates the non-slip case back.
    • If you have an incompatible case and you attach the plate directly to your phone and remove case when you want to mount the phone, it works well
    • Hopefully it won't damage the case
    • Tough Armor Case for iPhone 6 (4.7-Inch) - Champagne Gold (SGP10970)
    • I attached the metal disk inside a soft case to keep the phone from being "modified".For northern users, I suggest you redirect the heat away from that vent in the winter as the phone will heat up too much and shut down until the temperature cools down.
    • A thinner case or a smaller phone would probably work fine
    • but I just don't like ruining a case
    • It hold my iPhone 6 with a fairly thick Speck case pretty well
    • I placed one of the two enclosed magnetic "targets" inside the excellent Cimo case on my Motorola Moto G without using the adhesive on the target; it works fine
    • After dropping my phone, the case was cracked
    • Once you insert the mount into the air vent and install the metal piece that comes with it to the phone (I simply added to my soft TPU case, not even using adhesive), then mounting your phone for navigation and music in your car is just snap-on and snap-off operation.
    • The case is pretty
    • This is the best way to mount your smartphone to your car, in this case, air vent.
    • This along side the CHIL magnetic case are great!
    • If you have an opaque case its perfect, but I have a clear back on my case, so you can see the metal plate clearly.
    • Advertises itself as capable of any phone, any case...simply not true.
    • If you have a good size case or the phone is heavy, it will not hold.
    • I was surprised that the small magnet was able to hold and support my phone and case
    • With a simple decorative case instead of the heavy duty protective case I use it would probably have worked out better..
    • I use these with an iPhone, and put the magnet inside of my protective case.
    • (But perhaps the case made the magnetic connection less powerful?)The product was delivered quickly and was exactly as advertised
    • It's a clever solution and a quality product, but large phones and thicker cases like Lifeproof and Otterbox will present a challenge.
    • I have a Google Nexus 6P with the Spigen Resilient Rugged Armor case
    • The magnet in the mount is easily strong enough to hold my phone in place even though the metal plate is mounted between the phone and its protective case.(I have the Spigen slim case and an iPhone 6), and even though its certainly not the biggest phone and it is a slim case there seems to be plenty more magnetic force than is needed therefore it could easily support a heavier phone and/or a thicker case
    • My hard plastic case was too thick for the magnetism to attract well
    • As for the steel plate you put behind your case or permanently apply to the back of your phone, I have a Spigen Tough Amor case for my iPhone
    • I even have a case on my phone and it still works.
    • You cannot attach the plates inside your case, you need to attach on the outside of the case, so it kind of make your case look ugly, unless you have a black case.
    • These are the perfect addition to your smart phone case and in car.
    • This case is great
    • That being said, I use a slim case, a bulkier case might be an issue with a bigger phone
    • I was not able to use the protective case on my phone and this phone holder at the same time and had to remove my case in order for my phone to have a secure grip with the magnet.
    • I generally like thinner cases, so placing the magnet inside a thicker case may weaken the magnetic power (something to consider) depending on the weight of your phone
    • If you have a thick case (like the Superior hard shell case for Moto X1), the magnetism is likely to not be strong enough to hold your phone up through the case
    • I purchased this as a gift for my wife to use in our Toyota Sienna van and her iPhone 6.Pros:+ different options for small and larger air vent+ fairly strong magnet (pending... keep reading)+ super easy to install or switch between vehiclesCons:- not recommended for phones with a hard rounded back case (Moto X with Commuter case) because while it may hold the phone up in place, the magnet isn't strong enough to keep your phone from rotating
    • Cons-if you want to hide the magnetic strip that you stick to your phone, you'll need a case.
    • I am using this with an iPhone 6+ & a pretty hefty case
    • but you can't use it if you have a bulky case.
    • I can't imagine removing the protective case every time I get into the car.
    • Maybe I am using it incorrectly but the smaller magnet can barely hold up an S4 with a cheap plastic light weight case
    • (I have a clear plastic/rubber case) and attach the holder onto your air vent.
    • My only warning is this will look ugly(The adhesive that goes on the case) if you have a clear case on your phone
    • My rigid case can still fit my phone with either plate, but, just so you know (and a flexible case is a non-issue).
    • I have a Nexus 6 (1st Gen) with a case on it Diztronic Flexible TPU Case and it holds my phone very well
    • I do not recommend this product if you do not use a case or use a clear case as it requires you slip in a metal card to the back of the case so it can stick to the magnet
    • I have an LG G4 with a thin, harder plastic case (an Incipio, which you'll see I clearly need judging by all of the damage it has taken), and
    • My cases don't work for that (Kate spade)
    • Probably one of the best clear cases I’ve received
    • I am using it with my OnePlus 3 inside the original OP sandstone protective case, and it works perfectly
    • but she wouldn't use it because the adhesive pad it uses to mount to the magnet would have ruined her custom I-Phone case.
    • I have a iPhone 6 with a red bubble tough case, and my phone just barely sticks to this mount
    • I stuck the small metal disk into the inside of my iphone 6 case and that works well - easy to place the phone correctly on the mount and remove again
    • Adhesive on metal plate (that you put inside your phone case) destroyed my case when I tried to remove it
    • I don't personally stick these my phone or case, but I just put underneath my case and it still works fine
    • My rigid case can still fit my phone with either plate, but, just so you know (and a flexible case is a non-issue).
    • Got a thinner case and it works like a charm.
    • A/C vent on my 2010 Prius
    • Much simpler than other a/c vent mounts that clamp or grab onto the phone--you just hold the phone up to the magnet and it sticks.
    • Obviously, placement of the phone holder depends on the a/c vent position of your car model
    • Minor drawback - blocks the a/c from the whole vent - but it keeps the phone cool in the summer even when navigating or other high-use scenarios.
    • I have had different types of phone holders, the suction cup...which sucks as it falls off always
    • I've had the mount now for probably 5 months and it is still as strong as when I first bought it
    • I've even tried driving slow as to not make it fall, but nothing helped.
    • Works as you'd expect.
    • It works exactly as it should, and the magnet works through my leather iPhone 6 case.
    • It'll work itself out a little as you put the phone on and off the magnet
    • The mount held an iPhone 6 in a Speck Candyshell Grip case as well as in a New Trent LV6 case while going over potholes, curbs and other bumps with minimal problems and with no problems if you are very particular about placing the phone's 'sweet spot' on the mount for maximum magnetic pull.
    • Strong enough to hold it in place, but no too strong as to make it difficult to remove
    • i did, however, deduct a star as the over all device did not work as
    • If you have a thick case it may not be able to hold your phone up because the magnetic element weakens as it is further apart
    • Works exactly as I expected it to
    • Works exactly as it's supposed to
    • You don't have to struggle as with regular car phone holders
    • Works pretty good on my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder with vertical vents, I have a Nexus 6 phone that is pretty big and heavy, it's vibrates and shakes just a
    • I have bought these for all of my phones, as well as my S/O's phones
