It's older (FM radio) techology, independent of an internet connection, but it has many modern touches: a battery rechargeable via a micro-USB cable (I estimate roughly 6 hr playing time per charge, and it recharges fast), a digital screen, independent buttons for 10 preset stations, ability to use as a Bluetooth speaker, headphone jack, and more.
