no claimed thickness on packaging, but feels very sturdy- can write on white area (between holes) with a Sharpie permanent marker- very clear- accompanying label says "made in China"Overall, an excellent product, and it is perfect for the common LEGO Company instructions that are a bit less than 5" by 8"!
