I think I bought the wrong unit for this vehicle

Decided to spend a little more and get a bigger/better unit.

Installing it cost me $200 at my local garage, but the unit itself was a real bargain

Part of the problem was due to my particular truck -- no way to get a cable through the firewall -- but the installation would have been much easier and the unit would be much more reliable if the provided wires were of a heavier gage
