Bad Elf 2300 Bluetooth GPS+GLONASS Receiver and Data Logger with Barometric Altimeter

    • A non-responsive barometer display would show, the unit would hang and then power-cycle
    • Maybe Bad Elf will get these issues resolved over time - until then, it is of no use to Pilots who need a reliable unit.
    • If the unit works as promised I will definitely update the review further as well
    • For the past few weeks I've been running the three current Bad Elf units, the 2200, 2300 and GNSS Surveyor, side by side in both slow (hiking) and faster (vehicle) situations
    • That unit actually still works 100% otherwise, and is completely controllable via the iOS app, which actually gives access to more options than can be chosen on the device itself.
    • Great precise little unit.
    • What I find hard to understand is how the signal can be lost (the unit itself, not on the app) when flying without turngs and continous identical unobstructed view of the sky
    • On the very positive this unit finds and uses satellites (both US Satnav/WAAS and Russian Glonass) to determine position amazingly fast and under full cover (even indoors).
    • This is a great unit for getting a much better GPS fix for iOS devices, or for independently making a track log.
    • Already recommended this unit to friends.
    • However, the Q1000 unit lags a status readout feature and the software that comes with it is cumbersome to use.
    • The unit has been replaced, so I have had 2 units to test, outruling possible problems with a defective unit
