Disgusting toxic smell, not durable at all.

it did not have a bad plastic or chemical smell when I opened it.

We have other mats from GAIA, this one has been out of the packaging and unrolled for 4+ days and it still has a strong chemical smell to it

good quality but smell is not very good.

Yes, there is a strong smell upon unwrapping that slowly dissipates over time, but what do you expect from the material.

It also lacks the harsh smell many mats tend to take.

There's also not a nasty chemical smell.

My only complain is the initial cheap sponge smell, but I left it outside for little bit and washed the surface with wet wipes

I did my exercises and stretches on it and love the length, the thickness, how easy it is to roll back up and store and a bonus for me..there is no weird product smell

Nice and thick, no funky smell and lays flat even though I store it rolled up

It had a bit of a weird smell, but it’s slowly fading away

The mat is not of great quality, it has a strong smell/odor, very disappointed with my purchase.

It does have that strong gym smell though, so if you are not a fan, you may want to store it in a closet until you need it.
