Used some free software along with the correct programming cable purchased here, and some help of a couple of videos to have it programmed the same day

In my opinion the radio is all but useless if you don't purchase the proper programming cable to attach it to your PC.

However, while I'm not advocating this, the radio can easily be programmed to work with any of the FRS frequencies.

If you're not techy it can be difficult to set upChirp software is a must for easy programming.

Manual programming is rather tedious so you will want to purchase the Btech programming cable for this radio

This radio works great and accepts easy programming with CHIRP.
