Not the simplest straight forward MIDI Pedal board to configure and set up, but once set up it works fine

let me echo what you are going to hear everywhere about the FCB... out of the box, this is a swiss-army knife midi controller good for MANY things, although a bit complicated and intimidating to understand and setup

Unless you have midi supported hardware that this device was designed to pair with, you will need to hack at it to get it right

Do yourself a BIG favor and get the SoftStep instead, it has software, a midi cable, it's more compact, looks nicer, and works the way a modern midi controller should, all for only $50 more.

is - there is still a gap in the market for decent MIDI FCs, that are reasonably priced

As expected, nothing worked, but after some digging I found that these editors send long MIDI messages that my cheap USB-MIDI cables can't handle.

I finally gave up and bought a much nicer PEAK MIDI fcb4x which is much smaller, built like a tank and has a large LCD display to tell you which patch you are on!!

5 stars, because this thing is the best MIDI purchase I've made in years.
