In any event the DA sounds better than the one built into my Lenovo laptop and I no longer worry about bumping into those horrid mini-phono cords and getting scratchy sound.

There are lots of of other devices similar to this one, but all the others only offered USB to headphone and mic, I guess for people who broke their built-in laptop sound.
