Not sure if it's my laptop or the rooms I've been in, but I receive a slight humming noise when I use a microphone to record with

Plugged in and windows found the drivers automaticallyTested on an installed sound system at my regular venue and had no ground noise

It has low noise and a very flat frequency response, but I still miss the 24 bits ADC to have a higher dynamic range and to make the recording quality more independent of the signal level.

The 3.5mm jack connection on the back of my desktop has long been flaky, with a constantly audible white noise during silence

It's good for it's price, but if your trying to get a cheap fix to use studio monitors with your pc for general purpose audio I would think about spending a bit more to ensure perfect quality, no hum/background noise play back at all
