This pedal is modeled to the SVT tone if you like that tone, overdrive dirt don't sound so good at full

works as direct box when pedal is deactivated too just like the Behringer GDI21.

Surprisingly this pedal is extremely solid

but I wouldn't recommend the higher priced DI pedals if its just for home use..

I would not recommend this pedal.

I recently got a P-J bass which has a much different sound than the P-bass, and so far prefer this pedal in bypass mode like a simple DI box because I can get a good range of sounds already from the bass guitar's knobs
