I get a much cleaner signal this way than going 1/4" direct from the passive p-bass into the preamped 1/4" instrument input on the audio interface (true in both amp modeling and bypass mode).
-
I use it to send a nice clean signal to the audio interface/mixer using the balanced XLR output, and another signal to a dedicated bass amp using the 1/4" (to be used as a personal monitor).
-
The XLR output gives a clean signal.
-
On top of that, it has a few nice features: the eq is always handy; the drive is... not TOO bad, but will do in a pinch (my crummy amp doesn't help), and you can blend the clean and modeled signals to your taste
-
It does boost the signal just enough to use the 1/4" line level inputs on a mixer/audio interface.
-
whatever effect pedals I want to the monitor line and still send a clean signal to the DAW.
-
I read reviews where people said that the DI didn't put out enough signal

The signal is crystal clear.

So this thing can split your signal into a balanced signal to run into the board and the PA and subwoofers if you have them, and an unbalanced signal for your amp/monitor

You can always boost the signal in the DAW when mixing the recording (or crank the gain on the PA when playing live). All in all, a very cool little box.

And when the battery is dead it fails to work even as a
