Very touchy about placing the phone in order to charge.

The phone gets fairly hot while charging

I have a Tech 21 case I bought at the apple store and the phone charges fine with the case on

Pulled it out of the box & plugged it in, placed my phone on top (with case still on) and it worked immediately

It charges my phone fairly quickly, but not that much faster than my current Belkin 5W Boost Up wireless charging pad that I purchased just two months ago for half the cost of this.

If I don’t have a case on my phone, phone will slide off of charging pad even if it’s on a flat surfaceOverall, I like this charging pad, like I do many other Belkin chargers for Apple products

Now all she has to do is put the phone on this wireless charger at night and viola, each morning the phone is ready to go

The phone is kind of cool looking laying on the counter, but truth be told I'm a little afraid a cat will sit on it one of these days (which I'm not sure would be harmful to either of them, but who knows).Also, a tiny (and I mean tiny) green light on the surface lets you know when you have a good charge going

But if your phone has a cover its super easy and convenient since you wont have any uneven issues caused to do the camera.

You have to position the phone in just the right place, missing the whole point of wireless is to put your phone down randomly to charge.

Plus I like having my phone in an upright position – vertical or horizontal

Took the charging pad out and set up on nightstand, compatible phone (Samsung Galaxy) seemed to sync right up.

Will charge your phone IF you don’t protect your phone

Using this with an iPhone 8 and 8Plus ....... works as intended ...... seems to take just a bit longer to fully charge then if the phone was plugged in with an Apple cord ....... phones get a bit warm (not hot) as well

You have no choice but to lean your phone on this charger but it worked just fine with the thicker case

The stand lip is t very big, and it is easy to have the phone just slip off and fall off the stand with a case.

Both that charger and this one allow for portrait or landscape charging, but this one rests the phone more securely in both orientations, thanks to it's shape and the non-slip, rubbery surfaces

Plug in the charger and just lay the phone or tablet on top of this charger and a small light goes on to indicate it's charging

if the phone isn’t on there exactly right it won’t charge that is the only reason for reduction of a star.

It's too easy to knock the larger phones off by accident.

That same phone worked fine on the Belkin 5W charger because it lays down on top of the charger.

I should also mention that I have an Otterbox case and it does not have any problem charging my phone with it on

I like the vertical stand as it takes less desk space than laying a phone flat, which would probably work nicely if you wanted to watch videos while it charged

The Belkin works well... always charges my phone reliably, and can be used horizontal or vertical, however many stands available for 1/2 the price offer similar features.
