Yes, there are alot of false signals, but they are not really false, they are for automatic doors.

Ka-Band is NOT used for automatic door openers, but you will get false signals from things like direct tv dishes and other cheaper radar detectors LO leakage

The receiver in radar must be sensitive enough to discern the signal... the problem for the officer is that the signal will travel away from his radar much farther than his receiver is sensitive enough pick up returns, meaning he may be able to clock a car a mile away, but your car is 1.5 miles away and gets a much stronger signal since it is directly transmitted to your detector from his radar, there is no bounce and your radar detector doesn't care if there is a Doppler shift, his radar reciever is rejecting anything but a Doppler shifted return

In short, it can identify speed detection radar with ease and filter out false signals reasonably well

I run my device in the highest sensitivity with all bands enabled as I would prefer to make the decisions about what signals are important

While false alerts are annoying, you can learn to live with them or get a detector with GPS lockout for known false signals, but just know that idea can burn you, because like I keep saying, automatic doors looks just like radar, and if your local cops radar happens to be the same frequency as the grocery stores door, you may be locking out the cop that is clocking you!Some fun facts:Police radar is CW - meaning it is NOT pulsed
