This projector of course projects great picture quality and it’s super easy to setup
Truly amazing picture quality, very happy with the purchase.
The picture looks great, and there is about a 6 inch light border around the image which really isnt all that bad considering how amazing the image looks
Great picture out of the box, especially at this price point
Great picture for 1080p and 4K definitely a great price for this kind of video quality

the HT2550 is not in the same class as some of BenQ's more recent 1080p offerings such as the TH671ST, HT2050A and HT2150ST which all feature a 'fast mode' that reduces input lag to a blazing 16ms
BenQ continues to improve on their lamp life and now claims a whopping 10,000 hours in Eco and a still impressive 8000 hours in the popular SmartEco lamp mode
I found myself switching to Vivid TV mode the other night while watching The Big Bang Theory where color accuracy is not paramount
The first 6 weeks of owning this I used a combination of custom modes I created from Sport and Vivid modes
But I am not aware of any home projector that supports those HDR modes at this time

However, the HT2550 did a pretty good job handling HDR once the HDR feature is turned on.(It would not work in "Auto" mode for me
This means it supports 4K HDR at 60 frames per second and 10 bit color
For what it's worth HDR also works in this 1080p "Silence" mode and even though the info display will say 3840x2160, there are only 1920x1080 pixels on screen

Well worth the upgrade from 1080p to 4K!Summary:- Great price!- Fantastic image quality and color accuracy (especially in HDR)- Bright enough for my room with some ambient

and I feel BenQ has done a good job equipping the HT2550 with the image quality performance and features necessary to make this a very complete product and a worthy addition to anyone's home theater
I’m using a Pioneer Elite receiver to control everything which does a phenomenal job and DirecTV is my cable provider
the HT2550 does a respectable job out performing peers with accurate color

The 2200 lumen brightness lights up our darkened room when in use so no more fumbling for remotes etc in the dark .Brite vivid vibrant colors and so many settings to help you achieve the image quality you want
Color wise you have to recalibrate this as per your own taste, the preset colors are not great
but I think the PX727 has better contrast and better color
It has great color accuracy, 3D, HDR, and good brightness despite being 2200 lumens

Best thing this projector has was the speakers ; great sound.
the BenQ ht2550 .We just cant say enough good things about this
I use a 50' fiber HDMI cable to connect the projector as I had read that non fiber cables had trouble passing a 4K signal over a distance longer that 15'.This thing looks great out of the box
Coming from a TCL 55 inch 4K TV this thing blows it out of the water
I was a bit worried going from an LCD to a projector and how things wouldn't be as vibrant or bright, or that the contrast ratio wouldn't be as great

BenQ has implemented their own HDR mapping and in my testing the feature worked well
While smart and sleek, the BenQ feels solid and well built
Performance3D is slowly disappearing from consumer displays so when BenQ announced that the HT2550 would support the format 3D fans rejoiced
My last benQ had that annoying overheating problem when the projector would shut off right in the middle of your movie and complain that the lamp got too hot
I have not recived it yet but will post the result here as soon as I get it.“3D is slowly disappearing from consumer displays so when BenQ announced that the HT2550 would support the format 3D fans rejoiced

Downside is buzzing sound, but not a deal breaker as usually my surround sound overtakes
I had to return the first one due to annoying humming noise/sound which kills the silent scene, 2"-3" inch light border around the screen, 3D not working and light on top of the projector
as I commented on another posting: "Mine has a horrible humming sound
To start off great value for money the picture is great the sound is good not great but good enough but a sound bar can fix that the light border around the edge of the screen is a lilbit of a annoyance but after a while you don't notice how the remote horrible the buttons stick bad but all in all great value for money
Best thing this projector has was the speakers ; great sound.

Unfortunately the first two shipments of HT2550s to the states suffer a bug that causes a sync issue with compatible DLP link glasses making 3D content unwatchable

By this summer I suspect that the bugs will be worked out

In fact, BenQ will sell you their HT2050A (a model I'm also reviewing) with similarly excellent color performance, better contrast and black levels, and more features including vertical lens shift and 16ms of input lag-- for exactly half the price
the HT2550 is not in the same class as some of BenQ's more recent 1080p offerings such as the TH671ST, HT2050A and HT2150ST which all feature a 'fast mode' that reduces input lag to a blazing 16ms
If you are a twitch gamer you may want to look into the BenQ HT2050A or 2150ST which are regarded as the gold-standard for input lag in high quality gaming projectors.============Of Placement Flexibility

Good price and excellent picture, however the light border around the picture is distracting
Include the useless, problematic grey border of unused mirrors and you have the full diameter of the throw.
I though the light border would be annoying, but I made sure to adjust the screen size so that the picture fills the screen
If you subtract the grey border, you're really left with about 4-5 inches less in diameter, and this is the actual viewable picture.
Two major problems... the persistent grey border around the image, and constant 3D synch inverting

Well from my short time with the projector...it was a non-issue for me
Everyone complains about the unused light border around the picture but if your wall is painted a darker shade, it's a non issue
My projector is ceiling mounted above my seating area...it could be that these fans were quieter than my old projector, but no matter, it was a non-issue for me

Also 3D was imposible to get it to work and the software was very slow and a lot of flickering during setting changes.
When watching movies in 3D, the image would judder a lot and not to mention the annoying line in the middle of the screen
