The plastic is brittle the rubber/silicone is not waterproof but it had protected my phone

The case will protect your phone but after a few drops the case gets noticeable scratches, the rubber on the phone helps with grip and keeps it held up when against something.

Had to buy a screen protector separately to protect the phone.
