The water reservoir is a bit difficult to fill and the carafe doesn't keep the coffee warm as long as did the previous brand I owned did, but it's OK for the price.

It's a little bit difficult to see the settings on the Black and Decker

The carafe lid is a bit hard to clean due to the seals but with a baby bottle brush and a little extra attention it's not impossible

I like this coffee maker quite a bit

We ran it four times with water only - then two with coffee - then two more with water and the water still had this miserable bite to the tongue

I have found it easier to use a measuring cup to fill the reservoir, as I was spilling a good bit onto the counter when using the carafe for that task

love the wide pour spout.realizing everyone like their coffee at a different temperature all I can say is that the first cup in the morning needs to cool a bit before I drink it. if you refill a partially full cup, say about half I go to the microwave to get it hot again

The lid is a bit tricky in closing it and the the knob to open to put broke off

It held up fine, but, some may find it a bit cheap looking/tacky.2

So then we tried the standard setting, with the regular amount of coffee and although it wasn't really charred tasting, it was a bit more bitter than usual

But I do wish it was a bit hotter with the initial brew

I am retired now and my first every "under the counter" coffee maker was a beloved B & D.

I bought this brand because I had a B&D space saver coffee maker for about 15 years, that finally died.

The B&D works well, is easy, and looks good.

so I like it hot and fresh typically

As much as I like everything else about the machine I doubt I will purchase another one.
