The lid stopped working

after, I opened up the lid and the mechanism inside had broken completely

My only minor quibble is the lid to the carafe is quite finicky

The lid feels very cheap and the handle that you push to pour bends as it's really thin

I am now looking for a new coffee maker as I don't want to keep dealing with a defective lid again.

You have to be careful that the top lid is all the way down, I mean really down or the coffee won't drain correctly and you'll have a mess

Then, in four months, the lid broke and now we have to unscrew it to pour coffee, which defeats the purpose of a thermal carafe.

Carafe lid quickly stops working correctly so you have to remove it to pour coffee, little plastic parts inside come loose.

B&D recommends heating the thermal carafe with hot water just before brewing to keep the coffee hot longer

I bought this brand because I had a B&D space saver coffee maker for about 15 years, that finally died.
