This is a solid machine that just makes coffee really well.

We originally didn't want to spend over $100 (especially for machine only capable of making 8 cups), but all of our research pointed to the Bonavita being a great value at ~$130

but the machines broke after 1-2 years

The new machine, at close to the 90 day mark in early Dec 17, stopped working as well.

We frequently buy fresh roasted coffee and this machine has the right temperature and we like the multi-spout sprinkle over the grinds much better than the Cuisinart, Hamilton Beach and our friend's Keuirig (not a fan of any Keurig type makers)ProsGreat coffeeConsNot as  convenient as other auto drips

Outstanding coffee machine

No, it doesn't have a "pause and serve"/"sneak a cup" capability, but I have not owned a single one of those that did not leak as even the most microscopic of grounds getting trapped in the "bump" valve causes a leak (and that valve makes it harder to clean the machine, too)

I am pleasantly surprised by how great this machine is!

I said to myself before this arrived that I probably would return it since it was so pricey and could not imagine it could live up to the $140 price all things considered.that being said, I absolutely love this machine and it is worth every penny; i have no qualms with it and find it perfect

One issue is that the machine has to be absolutely level in order for the hot water to pour out of all the holes in the spout, otherwise the water drains to one side more than the other, and you get an uneven pour

Now I was sold, so I researched the best coffee drip machines and the Bonavita 1900 was a constant winner

This thing just seemed like a fancier Bunn machine like what my dad had 20 years ago

The carafe leaks, does not keep coffee hot and the entire machine stopped working completely after 9 months.

I have my coffee fixings all nestled on a tray together to give the appearance of a little coffee bar, and this compact machine fits very well into the assortment of goodies on the tray

The carafe spout is so small that you either have to pour water really slowly into the machine or risk pouring water onto the counter.

So I ordered this almost two years ago and it has been an amazing machine

I could have used a lesser expensive machine and saved me some money!

Such a shame since this machine has great promise, but the service and experience that I have had is going to push me toward a different machine.

However with time, I have found that it forces me to empty the basket immediately after I brew, which is a good habit to keep your machine clean anyway, and only saves you time for when you brew your next batch.

My machine wasn't brewing the coffee as hot as the hey said it would be, and the coffee wasn't staking hot either.

All I need is a good cup of coffee in an easy to use (and easy to clean) machine

It's also not easily serviceable as there are 2 non standard screws to prevent anyone from fixing their unreliable machine, forcing you to buy a new one.

For background, I like hearty roasts (French and Italian), grind my beans daily and also have a Gaggia Classic espresso machine and a Breville bean grinder.

I read some reviews which said that the coffee doesn't come out hot enough/ stay warm in the carafe, but I've brewed a pot of coffee, poured about half of it into cups, and came back an hour later to refill them, and the coffee in the carafe was still just as hot as when it was brewed.

I've used other percolators, including nice expensive ones, but never found the coffee to be as good as from a Keurig or Aeropress

In addition, the coffee does not takes a good as from my 8 year old Cuisinart coffee maker

This replaced a $300 dollar European coffemaker and is just as good as for less than half the price.

I would say if you're going to invest the money, pick up a grinder as well as it has made all the difference.

If coffee temperature is a concern, then I think there are coffee brewers out there with carafes that offer much better insulation, such as the Zojirushi EC-YSC100, available for the same amount of money

Most of the aroma should be going in the carafe so that your finished product tastes as good as it can.

For the short time my coffee sits in the carafe it stays nearly as hot as when I made it

I have owned you most in-expensive models and spent more based on widely regarded reviewer sources as well as from consumer reviews found on sites such as this one and found this little gem to give the biggest bang for the buck
