Ok.. This coffee pot does keep the coffee hot for several hours but it does have a few issues that are kind of inconvenient Do not fill the pot itself with water and then pour it into the machine

After a disappointing search for a quality coffee maker that didn't require a chef or two hours to prepare a good pot of coffee, I settled on a Keurig, which instantly brews a cup of heated battery acid.

This machine brews a fine pot

It does not have many of the features of my old Cuisenart - no clock, no brew selection, no timer to begin brewing - but quite honestly I didn't use them - some were a bit gimmicky, and all I am after is a reliable pot of quality coffee.

I studied the reviews on coffee geek.com extensively before selecting the high end of the less expensive brew pots

So, after our house burned down... not connected to coffee pot which was a Hamilton Beach Latte maker that also made a darn good pot of drip coffee, but a defective dryer outlet, we decided to replace that with this one

But, still a fantastic pot.

When you clean the pot there is always water left in it that must be wiped out or left to evaporate.

The thermal pot keeps the coffee hot for a long time (I made coffee on afternoon and returned home late evening of the next day and it was still warm, not hot, but warm).

I can dump the grounds, clean the pot thoroughly (my entire forearm can get inside of this sucker), and rinse the storage tank when necessary

Brewed a pot of hot water to clean it out, then checked the water temp in the carafe an hour later: still hot.

It was recommended by our son-in-law who had one, and we knew he made a great pot of coffee.

I could just make smaller pots or make the late riser crew make their own, but an improved carafe would work, too.

i was so thrilled, I really enjoy the coffee pot, we started using the new January 1, 2018 and this morning April 11, 2018 the coffee pot stopped working altogether and we take really good care of the coffee pot, we use filter water and clean with the cleaner the company told us too.

The pot doesn't pour well without the lid so making the morning joe got a bit more cumbersome for me

The coffee flavor is fresh and good, and the pot keeps the coffee hot enough for several hours (yes you need to fill it with hot water for a minute or two but that's no different than any other insulated metal carafe or thermos, and is easy to do while measuring the coffee).

The work around is not to use the coffee pot to refill the reservoir with water, but then you end up with the same problem when you clean the pot.
