Bonavita BV382510V 1.0L Digital Variable Temperature Gooseneck Kettle

    • Although, much to my dismay, the lid started to rust after just a few months of daily use.
    • The handle is comfortable in the hand, the weight balance is nice, and the lid is not hinged (like some other Bona Vita models) but securely attaches and pulls off with a firm pull
    • Unfortunately the lid also rusted like the last one.
    • Spring does not seem to engage the prongs which hold the lid closed or retract so it flips open
    • Third, the lid is overly secure.
    • Lid secures well: With the Hario, the lid just slips in.
    • Lid of kettle and kettle itself started rusting almost immediately
    • The lid broke after only one month of use.
    • I found wonderful customer support for replacing my lost lid
    • The lid on the kettle is easy enough to remove and stays secure when pouring.*The narrow, curved up spout provides safety against a potential spill (actually seems to provide some counter balance) and is the best thing for having complete control over where the water goes and not a huge amount comes out at a time
    • The lid on mine broke after just a few months of use.
    • I wish the lid came off a little easier, but not a big deal
    • My last kettle (mistake) had a hinged lid that made filling ridiculously difficult
    • Lid was initially hard to take off/on when hot, but I found out in the owner's manual online that the tension is adjustable, so problem solved.
    • Fully removable lid makes refilling easy.
    • I do not have any trouble like some people have said with a rusty lid, when I am done with my
    • (for now)Cons-will most likely crap out (the lid, the heating mechanism, or the coil in the kettle itself) in less than 6 months (mine took 4 months after light usage)-probably made in China by a child/slave in a factory that pollutes like crazy
    • The BonaVita secures the lid with adjustable tabs so that you can set the tension as you desire it.
    • The kettle has for the most part functioned well up until about 6 months ago when the lid became increasingly hard to open, then finally broke at the plastic hinge yesterday.
    • When it overshoots, I just remove the lid and it cools quickly.
    • Unfortunately in under a month the lid and very top of the kettle (where the lid snaps into the kettle top) already has rust :-(
    • Reviews mentioning the lid being a struggle to get off wither gad an older model or did not adhere to one of life's ultimate pieces of advice...RTFM
    • The lid also gets rust around it as does the top edge of the kettle
    • Examples include: lids (for models with pop up lids), handle (just breaks off, then leaks water where the plastic rivets were), it is slows down absurdly as it approaches the target temp, which probably doubles or triples the time it should take to reach target temp
    • The lid broke off in my hand after a few weeks of being "sticky".
    • Unfortunately the lid also rusted like the last one.
    • The lid has a flaw -
    • Within 1 month the plastic lid broke and became seperated from the handle and its spring assembly which was
    • The lid rusts where it goes into the kettle
    • The size is also great (1 L)
    • Although it still boils my water, the main reason I bought it was because of the digital temp gauge and the reviews helped influence my decision as well which is why i'm trying to be as honest and useful as I canI suggest buying a more durable, better quality kettle from a brand that has a great reputation even if it may cost a bit more.
    • I didn't think I would like the gooseneck as much as I
    • If this one were to break I would order the same one again.
