The Bose CineMate GS Series II I purchased is an excellent speaker system for my home

The set-up of this system is amazingly simple, especially once you hear the quality that the super-small speakers puts out

I am not a sound system snob, but I think this Bose system sounds as good as most 5 or 7 speaker systems.

For a small/medium living room this is a great speaker; bass is great; on a full volume you could feel the room walls shaking

The two small speakers sounds great, just a few connections, and it sounds better than my 5.1 system I replaced.

those high dollar system always gave me hard times with sound and electrical problems and you have been in the need to firmware update on a frequent basis just to iron out any given issues.to me, this has been simply anoying and i could no longer justify paying such a premium on devices not working properly.my parents own a very old pair of bose 901 speakers which are working flawless for decades now, so i decided to give bose a try.i do own an extremely nice pioneer hdtv and did not want to clutter my living room with speakers and cables for the sake of crash, boom bang from rear, side and whatever one hearts delight speakers,

Bose makes great speakers, but their engineers need to focus hard on the functionality and the consumer(s) wants and needs.

The speakers themselves are less intrusive to the decor.

Love my Bose GS, as well as my Bose computer speakers and my Solo.

The gemstone speakers that come with the GS Series II are far superior....they can easily handle the high and midrange sounds where the larger, less expensive speakers can not.

In short not even close to a home theater system, but just a set of good speakers.

I have the gemstone speakers simply sitting on the tv stand, but if you want to get a little better speaker placement (important for the higher frequencies these speakers produce) you might want to use speakers stands.

The bass is perfect, and spot on, the mid's and high's are amazingly perfect, and I constantly find myself wanting to turn these beautiful speakers up

I also bought the speaker stands and glad I did.

Very late update:The replacement arrived and those speakers are well and alive till this very day

Bottom line, if you want a surprisingly powerful 2.1 sound system that is going to absolutely blow your mind without spending thousands on unsightly bulky speakers that take up square footing from your living room space, this system is it.

it sounds awesome with any kind of media i throw at it (bluray, apple tv, itunes).the only thing i would like to advice you is to buy speaker stands for the "gemstones".the speakers benefit a lot from "hoovering" in the air and not beeing crunched in a bookshelf.another beauty of this system is that it does not require a lot of space and looks good as a bonus also!if not sure if this is a speaker system you may like, i would suggest to visit your local bose store and give it an audition,.... you most likely will not be dissapointed.just my 2 cents

We are Bose fans, having owned the Wave radio, as well as some bookshelf speakers.

I want to have hidden cables and optimal speaker placement, and this system desigh makes that impossible for me.

Next, I knew about the proprietary speaker connectors before purchasing

The speakers are extremely portable and discrete.

These speakers sound great but we are questioning the connection to the small box

But you are getting more than just a set of good sounding speakers with this purchase

Again, this is an excellent speaker system.

The detail of the sound is no great and the speakers are weak
