I realize the Strike 3's is wired, not wireless (the Bose 700 is both), the Strike 3's mic is extended and detacheable, with really good noise-cancelling, voice-isolating capability, vs. the Bose 700 having a built-in noise-cancelling mic.

As far as pure noise cancelling goes my $30 china shooting range earmuffs do a better job (but obviously these are not headphones).Another high concept ‘premium’ device that tries to be everything, and just ends up being awkward, not very good at its core job, and very annoying to use.

These are the "best" headset in exactly one use case:You need the best ambient noise cancelling available, and you will only use them with one device

Noise cancellation is configurable and works as it should and, of course, it comes with amazing sounds

The "voice" and the trumpet blast on powerup/down is annoying as it completely blocks being able to hear anything (either ambient noise or the audio program).
