The microphone works well for calls, no complaints about cracking/soft voice!

HOWEVER, the microphone is extremely sensitive and picks up all of the background noise.

These were great - until the microphone stopped working only a month after purchase.

The sound is great and the microphone is clear to others.

I'm very disappointed that Bose produced this headset with such a sensitive microphone that completely defeats the purpose.

(w/ Adjustable Headband Boom Noise Cancelling Microphone for Apple iPhone Samsung Galaxy Android Smartphones w/ 3.5mm Headphone Jack) along side a Bose Quiet Comfort 25 ($350) by making calls to my wife and my answering machine in quiet and noisy environments, both indoors and outdoors.

I very rarely encounter earphones so uncomfortable, which probably means my ears are oddly shaped
