I started to consider the Invisible speakers and then read all the complaints about very low volume.

I can only tell if the speakers are working when I put my ear either right up to them, or at most a foot away

These speakers, if you can call them that, are very disappointing

The reason I took away one star is because like many other Bose products, these speakers require a proprietary plate to mount or basically do anything with these speakers

So don't worry the rear speakers are fine

The acoustimass amplifies the bass and low sounds of the soundbar, and the virtually invisible speakers amplify surrounding sounds

The sound from these speakers are INVISIBLE and the speakers are invisible because you cant hear them and if you cannot hear them you will never see them.

These are great little speakers that add just enough rear channel sound without overpowering the front end

How can you have nice, rear speakers, and expect them to plug into an outlet high up on a rear wall

When you buy a surround speaker this expensive and that too from a big brand like Bose, you do expect good quality output

Therefore, the speakers do not work correctly when connected to TV, bluetooth, or wifi using the Bose app

Simply do the calibration which is the secret for proper rear SS speaker and entire system operation

Some reviews seem to knock these speakers because of their low volume, which I don’t get

The speakers themselves are compact but the power source is huge and the wiring is clunky

The only issue i have with these is that I feel the Soundtouch 300, Acoustimass 300, and the Virtually Invisible 300 speakers should be offered in a single package.

I am replacing a receiver, with 2 very good tower speakers and a polk audio center and rear speakers

Let me start out by saving you some time and saying these speakers are absolute GARBAGE.

Dolby Digital sound tracks, limits the rear speakers to “surround sound” effects such as birds chirping, wind blowing or street traffic noise, ect…

I have attempted without exaggeration at least 6 times to adjust the volume of these rear Bose 300 virtually invisible speakers utilizing Bose's Adapt IQ and tried fooling this process in an attempt to increase the output volume, so you can hear them.

The speakers are hardly audible and you have to put your ear close to it to understand there is sound coming

The speakers are fully adjustable via user friendly app

The speakers themselves are fantastic

Certainly the SS rear speakers are plenty loud enough on their own, so be sure to run the calibration setup

Obviously you need to use a surround sound source (from blu-rays, online media, cable box, Apple tv, etc) to truly enjoy these speakers

Update to my review - just installed the software update to allow volume control on these invisible speakers and it makes a huge difference - much improved - being able to turn up the volume on these rear speakers and HEAR them has really changed my appreciation for the surround sound

Their a good set a speakers but they feel less powerful than the SoundTouch 300.

Definitely don't recommend this equipment as a main speaker, the volume on this is extremely soft

Unfortunately, while the system looks great, Bose is so confused as to whether these speakers can run off of power supplied through a pre-existing 16 gauge speaker wire that is in my walls

they work as they should.
