The software provided allowed an easy connection of all devices to the printer.

It's a fine printer but the wireless connection is pretty much impossible to implement

Windows 10 refused the connection with an error message stating that the legacy USB 2.0 connection was not compatible with the installed Type C USB port installed in the laptop.

I managed to enter the SSID and network key laboriously by hand into the printer's tiny board, and got a successful wireless connection complete with an OK report, and now it wants me to enter the TCP/IP information for the DEVICE, which I am absolutely not doing, having no idea what other devices I might create conflicts with.

Connection was easy, this is wireless but i am not using that at this time.

However, after the successful initial set up, the wireless connection was unreliable.

Also, before configuring your computer, make sure the wireless connection is working on the printer

I ensured that it wasn't being blocked by any firewalls, experimentally tried lengthening the DHCP lease time distributed by the router (who knows, maybe refreshing the network was causing intermittent connection errors), releasing and assigning new addresses to the printer, running the connection repair tool provided by Brother, updating the firmware, and running both the connection wizard and manual network setup over again from within the web interface and the printer itself

Constantly loses connections and requires reboots.
