For several years I have been using a finicky Epson with insanely expensive ink

Ink is expensive to use, and expensive not to use (dries out!).

It's bad enough when ink costs a fortune, but the printer makers also use unethical measures to make even more money

No alignments, no low ink, no dirty ink cards

Those things burn ink and are complete junk - you'll end up with so many hours of frustration with those things.

Always works, doesn't take much ink and the cool thing is, it is more reliable than the printer in my actual office.

This thing is a user nirvana - unbelievably fast printing (two sided is twice slower, downgrading it to incredibly fast), crisp text, and no cleaning ink process!There is only one thing - it's not turning on automatically

I've had this printer for several months now, and unlike a typical inkjet printer would, it hasn't complained once about running low on expensive ink

fancy color printers (like Epsons) with 9 ink cartridges - that run out 2 twice a month, and won't let you even print B&W until you buy all the colors of the rainbow of their expensive ink

These companies are such Grinches with their phony "Low ink" (or toner, in this case) alerts which prevent you from printing.
