It does great, putting out excellent color or B&W images on standard paper, curls heavier paper stock a bit.

Don't expect photo quality in color - good for a presentation chart but not for a photograph.

Note that for photos, you will still want an inkjet for vibrant colors.

The MFC9330CDW delivers sharp text, reasonable color for images like charts, and awful photos.

I just write down which one I reset and when the color starts to deteriorate I know which one to change

When I was searching for a printer I wanted one that was wireless and could print color but not break the bank in toner this printer fit the bill.

Good news, short-lived that it was: the tech guy took me through a convoluted menu I had not found on my own (and I consider myself to be computer literate) where I could change the color setting from "standard" to "vivid" (really?) and that fixed the color quality issue

Aside from that, it prints very nicely, the colors are beautiful and rich

I'm also incredibly impressed with the color quality of this laser printer and how fast and how quiet it operates

Choosing Brother or Canon will depend largely upon your expectations of what you'll be printing and the degree to which precise color reproduction is critical to your work.
