    • I purchased the Brother OEM high capacity cartridge because there were a handful of reviewers who stated the non-OEM (ie, cheaper) cartridges would not print clearly or would not print at all - for unknown reasons.
    • The cartridges are not costly, and you can set the machine up to auto re-order them from Amazon
    • Need to eventually buy replacement drum after expiring several toner cartridges
    • I had an ink jet color printer, and I was sick of replacing all those stupid cartridges
    • New genuine Brother toner cartridge should get 2600 copies, only had 600 before replace toner error came up
    • The printer won't work, even for black and white printing, until you buy an expensive new cartridge for every color that runs low
    • I rarely wish to print in color so made the swap from an HP all in one (with insultingly expensive cartridges) and I'm SO glad I did
    • Can't afford $45 toner cartridge every two weeks.
    • Use the replacement box and internal styrofoam to secure the old cartridge and you have nothing to throw away
    • A great general purpose B&W printer with affordable 3rd party cartridges
    • So plan on spending $75 every couple of months for an ink cartridge (if you want a decent cartridge) and another $75 about every 6 months.
    • The cartridge is so much easier and cleaner to handle than the ink replacements were
    • I replace the cartridge with an aftermarket toner cartridge which cost approx $10, and it works fine.
    • Needless to say, having a dried up cartridge when I'm thousands of miles away does not bode well.
    • We switched to a B&W printer after we kept having to replace expensive colored ink cartridges that we weren't even using.
    • The ink lasts pretty long, and the generic cartridges are very affordable on amazon.
    • I went from buying genuine ink cartridges to refilling ink cartridges to buying generic ink cartridges to a continuous ink supply system
    • Decided I'm done with color inkjet units due to expensive ink cartridges that get used up quickly even when I never printed in color
    • Much better than dealing with the stupid color cartridges that run out and require replacement when you just want to print B&W.
    • so no idea how it works with heavy use, but for low use it sure beats expiring, expensive ink cartridges of our inkject printers
    • Ran through the starter ink pretty quickly, but was able to buy a cheap cartridge that has lasted!
    • And if I didn't print anything for a couple of weeks, the cartridges would clog
    • I am about to give up on finding a reliable ink-cartridge-free printer for use at home.
    • Works fast and is much more reliable than my old Canon ink jet that had such extensive software to check for bad ink jet cartridges that it spent more time warming up and getting ready than it did printing
    • Because it is a laser printer, I no longer have to worry about expensive ink cartridges drying up between uses!
    • I recommend Brother products as they are reliable and economical to use
    • Was able to print from computer with Win 10 as well as from a cell phone, Galaxy
    • This could be a deal breaker though I have not contacted Brother tech support as of yet.
    • You have to download and run a client application on your machine to scan items, which is annoying as I expected a streamlined scan-to-e-mail function
    • So now the printer is ready when I need it working as it was intended.
    • Hit or miss as to whether my paper will print when I need it to and the wifi is the big reason we bought this one.
