Brother P-touch Home and Office Labeler (PT-D200)

    • it really does waste A LOT of tape--even though I have it set to the smallest possible borders
    • The unit wastes tape--a LOT of tape
    • Very user friendly, clear printing, lots of options for fonts, etc.
    • It does waste a lot of label when
    • A lot of label tape is wasted as it seems you must have a 2 inch margin on either side of the words.
    • works great although I need to learn how to adjust the space before and after the print - the settings allow for a large run of tape before the print starts and lots of space after the print runs which means that lots of tape is wasted
    • Like someone else said, a lot of waste on the label.
    • All the other reviews are correct: The thing wastes a lot of tape if you're just making one-off labels
    • A lot of people don't like the waste of label material when you print, but for me it's not that big of a deal
    • I love this machine a lot
    • Very frustrating to use and a lot bigger in size than I would like.
    • Excellent labeler, lots of options from text size to font style
    • Brother PTD200 Advice: I would try to select "chain" printing whenever possible to save on TZe tape consumption, otherwise you waste a lot of tape advancing a single label to the cut-off knife
    • This turns out to be a good thing, as the printer tends to waste a lot of tape at the beginning and end of the label
    • The other flaw I see is when you put the printer on "auto length" it wastes a LOT of blank tape on both sides of your printed word.
    • A lot of people complain about the amount of tape it uses
    • The keyboard layout is a lot cleaner than the PT-65 - not perfect but much better.
    • I had bought the older version of this hand held - I like this one better, its a lot faster than the old one
    • The cons I see are in a rather dim screen that is sensitive to viewing angle and also, like most label makers, it is designed to waste a lot of expensive tape out of the box
