The Deco Mode is perfect if you don't want to waste time on being fancy schmancy with your labels but the first design is a joke, it's like a dot matrix template.

#1 is that EVERY time I pull it out, the batteries are dead

I use it all the time and I love all the fonts and sizes you can choose from

I love this little label maker, I use it all the time.

Even when I turn it off after putting in a fresh set of batteries, the next time I go to turn it on, the batteries are DEAD

If you leave the batteries in it, they'll be dead the next time you want to use it.

but my gut feel is that they ( Brother), wouldn't have spent the time and money for the smart look of the equipment exterior and then neglected the interior/function itself.

All the other reviews are right about the battery life: even if you only printed one label, your batteries will be dead next time you try to use it, get ready with 6 AAA batteries

I caught the Brother PTD2000 Labeler and a good time with the right price with the intent of getting myself better organized.

Every other time we go to use this device, the batteries are dead.

It takes 6 AAA batteries and they will be dead every time you go to use it, even if you power it off.
