It is well designed and works as expected.

Not a big deal, but I prefer the design of the PT-1280 where the cartridge cover is in the back of the unit rather than the front

because of the cute designs they get compliments all the time.

I even use the 18mm size (and smaller) for putting names on greeting cards with a nice font and design, which can impress the recipient

This is designed to always waste one inch of tape

Overall, this is a well-designed, solidly made device.
