Brother P-touch, PTD210, Easy-to-Use Label Maker, One-Touch Keys, Multiple Font Styles, 27 User-Friendly Templates, White

    • As to not waste tape I typed out a bunch that I wanted to print and cut them individually with scissors after it printed
    • Instead of making better and better label makers, Brother is regressing .From tape waste to the maximum label size of only 12 mm (less than 1/2 ") - this label has so many limitations that I would name it the worst Brother label maker ever made
    • (The right size and kind of font, "chain printing", so you don't waste expensive tape, and explore all the features
    • Like many other reviewers, I really like this product except for the fact that it wastes tape by inserting large spaces before and after your text.

    • I was able to adjust down the separation space so it does not waste as much tape per tag
    • but I can't get past the tape waste issue
    • So far it has destroyed two $17.00 tapes.
    • The cut button cuts the tape ribbon too far away from the exit, so when you press 'print' on your next label rather than exiting through the 'cut' passage, the tape will curl back into the body and jam the machine
    • You will waste tape because it gives you a half inch at the beginning and the end
    • so you WASTE TAPE and new
    • Naturally you don't want to waste tape by printing and hating it.
    • Considering how expensive the tape is, users would appreciate this problem taken care of!
    • No way to turn off a nearly an inch of “lead” blank tape before every label, which wastes tape
    • Wasted way too much tape
    • but I don't like the way it wastes the expensive tape by feeding too much blank tape after each word.
    • My only negative comments are A) the tape is difficult to separate from the paper backing and B) the instructions are long and confusing to me
    • I wish it didn't waste so much tape at the beginning and the end
    • Does everything it says, but man does it try to waste as much tape as possible
    • It DOES NOT take 1" tape even though many compatible label tape makers state their tape is compatible with PT-D210 P-Touch the 1" tape does not fit (the case cannot
    • Seems like a scam to waste tape and force you to buy it more often.
    • The DYMO always wastes tape.
    • When you print there is wayyyy too much empty space on either side of the label so it wastes more tape than it needs to, so it runs out sooner
    • Also, the 6mm (1/4") tape is very hard to get started because the center split tape is so narrow to peel--I recommend a nice pair of tongs or tweezers as an accessory.
    • Then the tape got tangled and I had to replace the cartridge which meant cutting
    • That uses up the expensive tape fast
    • Need to figure out how not to waste so much tape.
    • but it really sucks how much tape it wastes before and after the desired print.
    • PT-65 ... was the best ... easy to use and basically economical tapes ... as you did not waste a lot of tape when printing .. but the PT-65 eventually died after many years of use.
    • And really, the tape isn't so expensive that it really matters
    • Just a heads up, it needs 6 triple A batteries, the tape is really easy to remove and change.

    • I have one of their cheapest oldest designs and it doesn't waste tape like
    • The only bad part is the tape is expensive and it goes fast.
    • They also make specialty tapes using iron-on fabric, extra-strength adhesive varieties, and flexible tapes for wrapping around wire and cables
    • Expensive tape that is.
    • But keys are big and words don't easily scratch off the tape.
    • Tape is a bit expensive, but I don't think this is so

    • (The right size and kind of font, "chain printing", so you don't waste expensive tape, and explore all the features
    • Although it does seem to waste extra tape as others have noted, it doesn't really bother me at all.
    • And like everyone, I do wish there was a way to adjust the "trim" on each side of the label rather than wasting so much tape.
    • I am using it more because the fonts are so nice, especially with clear tape on items like my stainless water bottle.
    • Your product is DESIGNED to waste tape.
    • I love that this label maker allows use of various tape sizes, colors (gold, white, clear, green) tape allows for different size labels on fun colors with creative printing and framing options
    • It does waste more tape than other models of theirs.
    • Only thing is that it wastes tape in between labels
    • CONS: wastes too much tape

    • My only gripe is that it wastes so much tape
    • This is a nice device, but it waste a lot tape.
    • The only drawback is the price of the tape... reminds me of printers - you get the device cheap, but then you spend a fortune on ink (in this case, label tape!)

    • I can afford the tapes .... but even I have to agree it is EXCESSIVE WASTE and the new
    • The tape is easy to replace also
    • This one is really annoying and it wastes sooooo much tape!
    • This label maker just wastes tape and forces you to use scissors to remove unwanted margins (if you don't want one inch of nothing before and after your text)In retrospect, I should have bought the DYMO LabelManager 160 which can produce labels with small margins
    • I love this label maker, but it's a real shame it wastes SO MUCH TAPE
    • I didn't think k it wasted too much tape
    • I like this label maker but it will waste unneeded tape too much before and after space
    • The only thing is that I wish I had listened to the other reviews about the excessive tape margins
    • unless, of course, you don’t care how much the label tapes cost or potential loss of time.
    • It wastes tape like no body's business
    • Nice features but it wastes so much tape
    • Get the clear tape also.
    • I chose to scrap the excess tape to achieve the look that I wanted
    • In addition to these widths, Brother offers colors, clear and transparent tape, and even metallics
    • It's nice that you don't waste the tape by using the "chain print" option, and when you are finished making all your labels you can feed the last one off and cut them apart
    • The display is a bit hard to read in low light, but I love the options and the different tapes available.
