Great software, easy to manage, create and print all sorts of labels

I previously had a Dymo 450 and the software quit working after 8.1 upgrade

The software is very good, its able to determine which label types you have loaded and will adjust software for you

Software is a bit frustrating, but as long as you're printing the proper sized document based on label size, you can print from any program

Finally bought Labellist which is excellent software for mac but expensive ($70 for family pack - multiple users on multiple computers).

It feels such a solid piece of equipment; and the software was easy to install and update.

In this day and age, one would expect that installing a printer would be as easy as installing the software and connecting the printer

I'd think, since rolls of shipping label widths can come in 50-foot rolls, the length of the tape might only be limited by the printing software (which does not have to be Brother's proprietary software).Tape rolls must be mounted in plastic holders which, depending on manufacturer, might be replaceable/reusable or permanently attached

The address book software that comes with the printer is not nearly as good as the mailing list software I usually use to keep mailing lists and print labels for addresses

The software for printing labels is likewise clunky, ugly and hard to navigate

The lack of a manual for the software precludes me from definitively stating that there IS no way... just that I haven't FOUND a way yet

Since I got this label maker, I've been able to resist the urge to do that, tempting as it may be
