It's not the printer or the drum unit, for all I have to do is dump the toner from a new cartridge into an older toner cartridge that worked fine before it ran out of toner and instantly the print quality is fine.
-
Be forewarned that you should not buy toner until you need it or you risk finding the problem after the warranty date.
-
I will only use genuine Brother toner after a negative experience with generic toner
-
It leaks toner and does not print evenly, leaving faded out or unprinted areas on each page.
-
I learned my lesson last year to never buy so-called "compatible" toner cartridges, and I am not taking any chances on a remanufactured one either.
-
I have had a HUGE mess due to using a fairly well known replacement toner
-
For this genuine toner cartridge:Lowest price I could find + free shipping = 5 stars.
-
The excess toner caused some other problems in our machine that Brother, so far, refuses to take resposibility for.
-
BEWARE though, as the toner waste compartment in the drum assembly will fill up eventually and will spill into the printer if you do this
-
This new toner has been going strong for more than a month
-
However, this one totally failed, dumping toner into the drum and printer and probably causing the drum to fail (had to be replaced with 35% usage remaining)
-
In the past I have had poor experience with some low cost "compatible" toners, so I opted for the much higher cost Original Equipment Manufacturer-grade this time.
-
We called a business machine repair company who found that our machine was fine but the toner cartridge was defective and causing all the racket from leaking toner product
-
Received from Smart Ink & Toner
-
Now I have wasted money not just on two useless cartridges, but the drum has been messed up (toner powder got all over it) - and the inside of the printer is a mess...
-
It is definitely necessary to put tape over the optical sensor window on the cartridge (a tip I learned elsewhere on Amazon about Brother cartridges) to get full supply of toner out of the cartridge after it begins giving fake "toner low" messages.
-
I will buy a generic toner cartridge available on Amazon this time and will see how that works.
-
Spend a little more and buy a more respectable toner
-
The toner is working exactly how I need it to print
-
This toner is not good
-
This toner works great with the Brother All-In-One I have
-
We tested this toner against other more expensive cartridges and were totally satisfied with the performance of this Brother toner cartridge.
-
I bought 3 toners and 2 did NOT work properly, I even told a friend to use them too, and also had problems
-
By the way, that new toner worked as it was suppose to.
-
I ended up returning it to them and buying this Brother toner cartridge that works perfectly.

Last year I bought the same cartridge from Vision Supplies through this website, and it leaked toner into the machine from first installation until it died (still with toner within) about a year later, well under the advertised 7,000 sheets.
-
I have purchased over 20 of this toners through my local office store, this is a great toner but very costly, when I found out that Amazon retailers sold the exact same produc, with exact same quality, but at a much better price I couldn't believe it, so all my toner purchases are going to be done through amazon
-
but every time I made copies more toner was leaking

I believe that a genuine toner cartridge from the printer manufacturer is always better and safer for the printer than it's cheap substitute made by who knows which company
