I'm guessing there is either a bad connection or some type of fuse in the device that is keeping the USB ports from working

Seems to work well, but I feel the USB ports have become loose too quickly, a little less than a year and the USB cables often lose connection or fall out of the port completely if you move a device attached to them.

There's either a bad connection inside or the power supply is not up to spec

It serves no purpose excellent t to keep one awake.
