I'm maintaining the "4" rating as the surge protection circuit appears to be working, I like the extra outlets this provides, and I've used heck out of the cell ports over the past 18 months

But I have mine on a "charging shelf" that we plug all our devices in the hallway and its pretty obnoxious and makes me question how effective the surge protection really is.

Maybe the light is supposed to go out if the surge protection fails

It's is fine for what it is, but I didn't read enough about the description and the surge protection rating is not nearly as high as I would have liked.

You can't have enough outlets, especially with surge protection, and these days there are never enough conveniently located USB charging spots in the house

The green light that shows the surge protection also serves as a night light if I want to get a drink in the middle of the night without turning on the overhead fixture.
