Just plug it in to the kindle, plug it into the TV, switch your tv to the correct HDMI setting, and BINGO, everything works.

You need to make sure know the difference between regular, mini and micro HDMI connections and not mistake it for a size of USB which is not compatible.

Not sure why, connectors fit and the description says HDMI but signal is not compatible.

Furthermore, I am absolutely certain it is the cable from cable matters that is faulty because I have a shorter micro HDMI cable that works perfectly for my devices

Of course, it could also be that the cable length is too long,but others have reported satisfactory results with even longer (and less expensive) hdmi cablesand Kindle Fire HDs, so cable length seems less likely as the culprit.**Update 1/24/2013:

I meant to buy an HDMI to mini-HDMI and misread the title on this one that was HDMI to micro-HDMI.

The signal is just as good as any other HDMI cable.
