I like distortions to be as dirty and gnarly as possible and pronounced but without being fizzy

but cheap, and is incredibly versatile as a booster, now as a distortion for solid state amps this thing is not recommended as it lacks a little bit of personality, what the pedal does is enhance the personality your tube amp already has and help bring the power tube overdrive we all crave, worth 4 times as much as the asking price if you ask me

How to describe its tonal qualities for those curious? - well, lets talk grainy distortion to ultra-smooth overdrive and everything in-between, to give you an idea of the tone:1

I would feel comfortable gigging or recording with this pedal, as it sounds great, and would best fill the gap between "clean" and "overdrive/distortion" in a live or studio-type setting

If you somehow don't care about loss of high end, this pedal offers halfway decent distortion, and honestly a nice sounding boost

This would be a good distortion pedal if not for one glaring flaw: it low-passes anything that goes through it!

Very good as a boost, overdrive or even stand alone distortion

-- a good distortion pedal with these settings would sound the almost the same as the clean signal

So that said, I was so worried this was a gimmick & just a clone of a metal zone (worst distortion ever, tied with HM-3) put in an enclosure to look like the “wampler triple wreck”.ITS NOT

I think this pedal sounds pretty decent with amps that have a warmer distortion, like Fenders
