And since this is a tonally "transparent" pedal, you can actually use the Pure Sky to "correct" an amp that is a bit too bright, or perhaps needs a little kick in the low end.

While I need to try it out with a wider variety of amps and guitars, I've been generally pleased with the sound of the Pure Sky.

Pure Sky stacked in front of the Orange Burst sounds incredible

For instance, I use the Pure Sky to reduce the low frequencies going into a Fuzz Face.

The Pure Sky is a keeper, the Orange Crush is getting returned.

But you may not want to plan on easily being able to swap in diodes / "audiophile-grade" caps / whatever without also potentially replacing the entire PC board.)Bottom line, if you don't already have something like a Timmy in your arsenal, the Pure Sky is a great way to find out what everyone's talking about

I've now purchased two pedals under the Caline brand (Orange Burst and Pure Sky), and am somewhat optimistic that these pedals fit into the latter camp

Compared to the CTO-1 the Pure Sky is in fact very similar but noticeably lacking just a bit of sparkle / edge / life

I picked up a Caline Pure Sky along with a Caline Orange Burst

But my favorite feature of both the Pure Sky and the Orange Burst are the tone controls.

Finally comes the Pure Sky, which is very smooth, nearly as hi-fi as the Keeley Blues Driver, and very uncompressed & dynamic

But to me the Pure Sky seems to be very much like the Xotic AC Boost

For combined cost of around $65 The Orange Burst and the Pure Sky are two great sounding pedals that sound even better together

10 o'clock-ish on the CTO-1.None of this is to say that the Sky sounds bad at all

In the mix and match category - I'd say that this one pairs well with the Pure Sky-- similar control set but with harder drive available

On it’s own the Pure Sky is a fantastic low/mid-gain Boost pedal

However, I would say I like the Pure Sky more than the Timmy because of its Treble and Bass knobs, which function as boosts instead of cuts

Orange Burst/Pure Sky - All of these are very fine-grained overdrive pedals/very smooth (fine-grained enough for complex chords/arpeggios sounding warm and clear when lightly overdriven on a Telecaster)

Out of these, the TS7 & Wasabi are more 1st generation "lo-fi" sounding pedals (either with that annoying TS7 midrange hump that only sounds truly great on Strat neck pickup, or with a limited EQ that messes with the tone too much - Wasabi) and each are less dynamic than the Pure Sky

The Caline Pure Sky is built well on the outside but sounds compressed, harsh and the eq controls boost oddly (ie: bass also boosts/cuts volume)

I got the pure sky overdrive a while back and still use

I actually prefer the Pure Sky, and the price is just a huge plus

The Pure Sky has a little more gain and more transparent than the Sweet Baby.

Currently, I run the Pure Sky as a clean boost with a Zvex Box of Rock going into it

For around $65 The Orange Burst and the Pure Sky are two great sounding pedals that sound even better together.

It also seems to have somewhat less gain / breakup available on tap than the CTO-1 - 50% / high noon on the Pure Sky's gain control, or at least on the Pure

So, while you are unlikely to step on a Pure Sky Overdrive to go from clean tone to full-out rock overdrive, there are many other things a good transparent can do for you - an "always on" clean boost, adding just a bit of grit to your tone, or stacking with another overdrive to boost or emphasize parts of its tone

You could say this is "good for the price" but I also bought an Andoer Trouble TC-16 on Amazon at the same time, for less money than the Pure Sky, and it blew the Pure Sky out of the water

and with the treble and bass shaping on the Pure Sky, I can hit the sweet spot on any of those

I've never played a real Timmy and probably never will, but the Pure Sky is excellent independent of price - and an incredible bargain for about $30
