It definitely has both a male and female end, brass on both ends, and the yellow-gold plastic piece is an aid to attaching the hose without the hose going around and round

Worked great with Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater - regular garden hose had bad rubber / plastic smell / taste

Plastic collar leaked right away.

This plastic on the end of this hose broke in the first week

It leaked from both fittings immedately where the hose meets the fittings, the threads are cheap plastic

It makes my easy tasks take longer and makes me frustrated as I do a dance with the hose to try and get decent pressure through it

Works as it should however it does seem to kink easy.

We use this on our tiny house (that's plumbed like an RV) and it works exactly as you'd expect.
