I took some beautiful shots with this lens, but eventually sold it because it was too specialized for my needs.
-
I am an amateur photographer and already taking great shots with this lens which I mount on a Rebel T4i
-
With a T4i sensor behind it, I have found that I can get clear shots of tiny bees (2-3 mm long) and other subjects that are more than clear enough for identification and for limited enlargement
-
Some of my best portrait shots have come from this lens - it is razor sharp and has exceptional bokeh.
-
Then took to the Des Moines botanical gardens and took a lot of photos and got a few really outstanding shots
-
Right out of the box and with some poor lighting I starting getting excellent macro shots of random items in my house
-
She got right up to it, 1:1, and got amazing shots of the lizard's scales
-
The anytime manual override works well, and is critical to getting good shots at very small distances when multiple focal planes may be desired
-
The foucs ring however does travel too much often even with limiting it to 0.3m -0.5 but remember most great macro shots are produced by using manual focus
-
I loved my older Canon 100 2.8 Macro lens and took many great shots over the years.
-
That is very important to steady hand held shots
-
The 100mm is close enough for great macro shots, and also wide enough to make a great portrait lens
-
I got the IS version and the shots are incredible
-
Like many of you, I was at the point I want to get some great macro shots of bees and bugs
-
Better shots will be obtained with IS on while tracking a moving subject; however, IS on this lens is no substitute for a telephoto with panning IS ability
-
You do hear it make a "zoom" sound when it's trying to focus, sometimes it's a little getting used to, when it comes to focus but the shots are clean and sharp!
-
This will open the door to some more amazing shots that I have had trouble achieving
-
I've been wanting a macro to play around with and this looked like it would give not only great macro shots but decent portrait work, too.
-
There are plenty of online tutorials and with this awesome lens you'll be getting gorgeous shots in no time!
-
great!I've got numerous, excellent macro shots handheld alone
-
Still learning how to,use it properly but the shots are still great
-
I'm looking forward to taking some great macro shots with this lens.
-
It really shines as a macro lens and also takes outstanding portrait and outdoor shots
